For more than forty years, flowers have been part of my life.
I first worked as a gardener, then as a florist. Later, I taught floral design before becoming a photographer. Throughout all those years, I observed thousands of flowers. I grew them, arranged them, gave them as gifts and photographed them.
Why is one person spontaneously drawn to a poppy, while another will choose an orchid or a sunflower?
Was it simply a matter of colour or shape? Or was there something deeper?
This curiosity led me to explore not only the plant world, but also human nature. I studied Gestalt therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and other approaches centred on communication and human relationships.
Gradually, one thing became clear.
Flowers could become much more than simple decorative elements.
They could become a language. A way to connect, to understand ourselves and others better, to express emotions, or simply to create a different kind of dialogue.
This is how Intuitive Floral Communication was born: an approach that uses flowers as a medium for reflection, sharing and self-discovery.
Over several years, this method was developed through individual sessions, workshops, training courses and collaborations with other practitioners.
A game capable of bringing children and adults together around flowers.
A game where you could laugh just as much as you could reflect.
A game where everyone could play in their own way: observing, imagining, communicating, creating, cooperating, or simply enjoying a good time together.
After several years of research, prototypes and testing, the Floral Game was finally born in 2019.
Designed and made in Belgium.
Today, it features 72 flowers and 9 different ways to play, so that everyone can find their own way to enjoy it.
Some see it as a board game. Others as an educational tool. Still others see it as an invitation to slow down, observe differently and take a fresh look at the plant world.
The Floral Game does not need a single definition. It was designed as something that brings people together.
A game that makes you want to talk, listen, discover, smile… and sometimes even discover something about yourself.
Because flowers have much more to offer us than their beauty. They speak to us of diversity, balance, fragility, resilience and respect for living things.
If, after playing, you look at a flower with a little more curiosity, then the Floral Game will have achieved its purpose.
